I recently got these as a gift. I love them. I had never heard of Jonathan Adler before so did what any curious person does, google him.
I found he has a great story. Here is the extra short version. He fell in love with pottery, tried a "real job" for a while, got depressed and went back to what he really wanted to do, pottery. Now he is happy and successful.
